Back in October 2016 we launched the Paragon Apprenticeships scheme, in which we immersed a group of young trainees in everything that Paragon Customer Communications does. They spent time across multiple sites and departments, and learned the ropes from the ground up.
The apprenticeship scheme aimed to provide valuable skills and training across a variety of roles within Paragon, and tested them with Quality Assurance work and coursework tailored to their training.
In March we were delighted to announce that five of our Apprentices have now graduated from our pilot Academy, and have joined their new departments in full time roles. These roles include trainee project managers, account executives, continuous improvement coordinators, business analysts, and production coordinators, jobs which represent vital cogs in the Paragon machine. The real work for them starts now.
Two of our apprentices – Benjamin Charman and Hamza Loonat – were also recipients of Print Futures awards at last year’s ceremony held at the House of Lords. You can read about them here.
Benjamin and Hamza received funding grants to help pay for training courses and qualifications in the printing, publishing, packaging or graphics arts industry.
The story doesn’t end there, though, as the Paragon Apprenticeship programme has been re-launched for 2018, reaffirming our commitment to supporting young people who want to go far in our industry. Details of the new Paragon Apprenticeships will be released soon, so watch this space for further exciting developments.
